Corbett Cares

More than 102,000 meals for people in need.

That's what Corbett Prep students and families generated for food-insecure families through donations and volunteer hours with Feeding Tampa Bay last year!

Corbett Cares, Corbett Prep's community outreach initiative, has set an even bigger goal for this year.

A network of parents, teachers and administrators, Corbett Cares raises awareness of local needs and coordinates avenues for Corbett Prep students and families to help others. Read on for how you can get involved with this effort.

About Corbett Cares

A large part of Corbett Prep's mission is to have a positive impact on the greater community.

In 2022, the Parent Faculty Association (PFA) launched Corbett Cares to focus on partnering with organizations in the Tampa Bay community.

Corbett Cares serves as a liaison to build connections for students in the classrooms and arrange volunteering opportunities for Corbett parents and children within the community. Corbett Cares even organizes adult-only opportunities for parents and guardians.

Let's have a positive impact on the greater community together. Fill our our survey if you would like to be part of this cause.

Feeding Tampa Bay

Corbett Cares kicked off its Feeding Tampa Bay food drive on Halloween and will have collection bins on campus for nonperishable food through Dec. 8.

Last year, through collections and volunteer visits, 422 parents and children contributed 1,020 hours of volunteer work for a total meal impact of more than 102,000 meals. Teachers and National Junior Honor Society members organized a campus-wide food drive, scheduled field trips to volunteer at the nonprofit’s warehouse and coordinated family volunteer opportunities for parents and kids to work together to help neighbors in need.

But Taylor Swift’s visit to Tampa in April raised the bar. During her Eras Tour, Swift made a donation to provide 125,000 meals to Feeding Tampa Bay. That inspired Corbett Cares volunteers to raise their goal to match – or beat – the singer’s contribution. Students responded enthusiastically when National Junior Honor Society leaders announced the goal at an all-school assembly, and the collection boxes for food items grow fuller every day.
