Corbett Cares
A large part of Corbett Prep's mission is to have a positive impact on the greater community. Corbett Cares connects students, families, and faculty with meaningful opportunities to serve and learn together.
Launched in 2022 by the Parent-Faculty Association, Corbett Cares partners with organizations across Tampa Bay to bring service opportunities directly to our families. From food drives and family volunteer days to outdoor stewardship and health initiatives, Corbett Cares makes it easy for our students and parents to engage with the community in tangible, impactful ways.
Let's have a positive impact on the greater community together and raise the next generation of leaders.
How to Get Involved
Participation is open to all Corbett Prep families with opportunities that fit busy schedules. You may choose to volunteer your time, donate goods or show your support at an event. Watch for updates and signups in the Corbett Cares newsletters, the Parent Portal, or other school communications.
Every act of service, no matter how small, helps our children understand the power of empathy and reminds them that kindness can change lives.

Feeding Tampa Bay
Corbett Cares' fall Feeding Tampa Bay food drive collected more than 5,000 pounds of food, resulting in 4,432 meals for families in need!
The food drive is the first phase of a yearlong effort to support Feeding Tampa Bay. Teachers are scheduling class field trips to volunteer at the nonprofit's warehouse, and Corbett Cares has family volunteer opportunities on two weekends.
Last year, through collections and volunteer visits, 402 Corbett Prep parents, children and staff contributed more than 1,000 hours of volunteer work for a total meal impact of 80,238 meals.
We look forward to continuing to make a positive difference this school year!
You can show your support for Corbett Prep and Feeding Tampa Bay by purchasing an Empathy Warrior T-shirt from our Shopify store! These shirts come in youth and adult sizes, and they comply with the Corbett Prep dress code if students want to wear them to class. A portion of the proceeds will go toward Feeding Tampa Bay at the equivalent of 25 meals per shirt!
Why Volunteer?
The concept of community service takes on real meaning when students can experience it for themselves. Sorting food, collecting donations for hurricane relief, caring for our local parks, or demonstrating appreciation for service members and veterans shows students how their actions matter and help them develop empathy and compassion.
Here are some other positive outcomes that emerge when volunteerism becomes a habit.
- Family connection: Parents and children serve side by side, strengthening family bonds while modeling kindness and responsibility.
- Community impact: Together, Corbett Prep families contribute thousands of volunteer hours and tangible results, from meals donated to supplies raised for critical causes.
- Core values in action: Service aligns with Corbett Prep’s mission to develop compassionate leaders who understand that success is measured not only by achievement but by the difference they make in the world.
