Community School of Languages
Say Hola, Bonjour, Ni Hao, Jambo, Privet, Guten Tag, Namaste and Hallo to Corbett Prep's new Community School of Languages!
The Community School of Languages (CSL) offers a variety of classes for children and adults in the Tampa Bay area community to expand their understanding of and appreciation for other cultures. In today’s interconnected and interdependent world, proficiency in other languages is a crucial skill that allows us to engage with the world in a more meaningful and immediate way while better preparing us to compete and succeed in the global economy. Research shows that people who speak more than one language have improved memory, enhanced concentration and better listening, problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
This year we are offering instruction on Zoom as well as in person at Corbett Prep. We understand that the face-to-face interactions our students and teachers enjoy each day are better in person than on a computer screen. But our remote learning environment provides opportunities for that teachers and students to continue to be highly engaged while feeling safe and secure.
Classes include Chinese, French, Spanish and American Sign Language for children and, for adults, conversational Spanish and an exploration of life and society in ancient Rome as well as ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages). Some language classes are also available as private sessions.
Spring Registration is Open!
