The Community School of Languages (CSL) offers a variety of classes for children and adults in the Tampa Bay area community to expand their understanding of and appreciation for other cultures. In today’s interconnected and interdependent world, proficiency in other languages is a crucial skill that allows us to engage with the world in a more meaningful and immediate way while better preparing us to compete and succeed in the global economy.

Classes include Chinese, French, Spanish and American Sign Language for children and, for adults, conversational Spanish and an exploration of life and society in ancient Rome as well as ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages). Some language classes are also available as private sessions.

Questions? Contact program director Valeria Wolters for additional information.

Research shows that people who speak more than one language have improved memory, enhanced concentration and better listening, problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
