Corbett Prep students (and coaches!) showed up strong at the state Odyssey of the Mind competition on April 4, and our Middle School team is heading to World Finals!

Two Corbett Prep teams – the Division 1 Vehicle Team (3rd-5th grade) and the Division 2 Vehicle Team (6th-8th grade) – competed in Orlando at states. Our Middle School vehicle team placed third in Division 2, earning the opportunity to compete in World Finals in Iowa in May! The Corbett Prep team included three fifth graders, all competing against 6th-8th graders. The students had to design, build and operate a train vehicle, which they named “Eleven” because it was the 11th they had built!

In Division 1, Corbett Prep's team of just four students overcame challenging circumstances to win fourth place in the state for their category! At regionals, this team also won the OMER award in recognition of their risk-taking and perseverance.

While Odyssey of the Mind is student-led with students taking full ownership of their projects, coaches are essential to guide the process and manage logistics. And Corbett Prep’s coaches are also champions! The Corbett Odyssey Players (Aimee Popalis, Jessica Wallen and Adam Elend) won the coaches' talent competition for the second year! Last year they performed a dramatic reading of Green Eggs and Ham, and this year they did an original skit called “Coach GPT.”

Congratulations to all of our Corbett Prep representatives!
