Audiences spotted a lot of talent on the Farish Center stage as the Warriors' Pride Chorus performed its annual musical April 23 and April 25.
The 66 students in the chorus have been rehearsing since the fall. Two casts alternate performances of 101 Dalmatians Kids, a fast-paced journey through London as adorable puppies outwit the evil Cruella De Vil.
Music Education at Corbett Prep
All students at Corbett Prep participate in music classes, learning music fundamentals, music history and composition basics. Students sing and try their hand at percussion and Orff instruments as well as recorder, exploring various musical genres and music from other cultures.
The Warriors' Pride Chorus provides opportunities for fourth and fifth graders who would like to pursue music at a more advanced level. The chorus produces a musical each year, allowing students to gain experience on the stage, singing, dancing and acting. Students can also take on leadership roles in stage management and technical theatre.
The music department also offers the Spirit of IDS Chorus for third grade and Beginning and Advanced Bands for fifth through eighth grade. Middle School students can choose to enroll in Musical Theatre, Thespians or the All-State Chorus Prep club.
