Spending a summer at CAMP IDS uncovers a world of opportunities for students entering PreKindergarten 3 (PreK3) through 12th grade in the fall.
Corbett Prep's summer camp, open to students from any school, offers more than 100 half- and full-day camps during seven weeks of sessions June 10-July 26.
Summer camp for all ages in Tampa
Every week includes options in technology, sports, recreation, academics and the arts, as well as field trip camps to age-appropriate venues. Camps just for children entering PreK3 and PreK4 help students learn reading and math concepts with plenty of time for play, exploration and discovery.
Families who select half-day camps can combine morning and afternoon sessions to design their perfect summer. Students may choose to learn a language, practice yoga, play chess or go fishing for half the day and spend the other half launching model rockets, baking, playing an instrument or shooting hoops. They can sample different sports, experiment with artistic techniques, solve challenging math puzzles or polish their study skills.
STEAM camps bring Science, Technology, Engineering, Art of Design and Mathematics concepts to students of all different ages and experience levels. Students enjoy hands-on learning in 3D printing, Lego robotics, video game design, Minecraft, coding and Maker Space projects.
Creativity, imagination and self expression is at the center of communications and artistic camps. Student storytellers learn to communicate through writing, broadcasting, drama and movie-making camps. Numerous visual and performing arts camps provide a supportive space for artists, musicians and dancers to hone their skills or pursue new interests.
Academics come alive in fun and engaging ways that allow students to sharpen reading, writing and math skills during summer break. International language camps introducing students to Chinese, French and Spanish appeal to global thinkers who enjoy learning about different cultures.
Corbett Prep's sports fields, gymnasiums and beautiful lakeside setting give campers plenty of space for active play, recreation and sports. Students enjoy archery and fishing and canoeing, along with on- and off-campus sports such as street hockey, flag football, lacrosse and more.
Additionally, two-week camps such as musical theatre and app design provide more in-depth experiences. First through eighth graders in App Design will use the student-friendly program App Inventor 2 to learn coding and create their own apps. Musical theatre camps will immerse students in rehearsals and performances of two shows this summer – kindergarten through eighth grade will perform Pippi Longstocking on June 21 and 22, and high school students will appear in Rent School Edition from June 27-29.
