CAMP IDS 2018: Where Everyone Has a Great Time
CAMP IDS 2018: Where Everyone Has a Great Time

Whether you're a codebreaker, a future Broadway star, a sports fanatic or outdoors enthusiast, you're sure to find a summer that suits you at Corbett Prep's CAMP IDS.

A fixture locally for two decades, CAMP IDS continues to grow and expand, adding 18 new camps this year. CAMP IDS now offers more than 100 camps for PreK3 through high school students from all over the Tampa Bay area.

Kids can select from half- or full-day camps during seven weeks of sessions from June 11 to July 27, 2018. Every week includes opportunities in technology, sports, recreation, academics and the arts, as well as field trip camps to age-appropriate venues. Camps just for children entering PreK3 and PreK4 spark curiosity and introduce reading and math concepts with plenty of time for play and exploration.

The format of half- and full-day camps allows campers to design their perfect summer. They may choose to learn a language, practice yoga, play chess or go fishing for half the day and spend the other half launching model rockets, baking, playing an instrument or shooting hoops. They can sample different sports, experiment with artistic techniques, solve challenging math puzzles or polish their study skills.

Cultivating creativity in STEAM camps

STEAM camps introduce Science, Technology, Engineering, Art of Design and Mathematics concepts to students of all different ages and experience levels. Middle School students will enjoy drone racing, 3D printing, video game design and environmental science. Younger students can build STEAM skills through Lego engineering and robotics or camps centered around Minecraft, princesses, Star Wars and superheroes.

Imaginations will soar as "makers" build projects designed to encourage their curiosity, while student storytellers learn to communicate through writing, broadcasting, drama and movie-making camps. Artists, musicians and dancers will express their creativity in numerous visual and performing arts camps where they can specialize in an instrument or dance style, for example, or enjoy a more general overview.

Academics come alive in fun and engaging ways that allow students to hone reading, writing and math skills during summer break. High school campers will look toward their futures in a college counseling summer boot camp that helps them reach their college search goals.

Students will find plenty of chances for active play, recreation and sports, making the most of Corbett Prep's beautiful lakeside campus and its sports fields and gymnasiums. Students enjoy archery and fishing and canoeing, along with on- and off-campus sports.

Explore App Design and Musical Theatre in depth

Additionally, two-week camps such as musical theatre and app design provide more in-depth experiences. First through eighth graders in App Design will use the student-friendly program App Design 2 to learn coding and create their own apps. Musical theatre camps will immerse students in rehearsals and performances.

Staffed by Corbett Prep's dynamic counselors, CAMP IDS provides extraordinary experiences in an exciting, fun, and supportive environment.
