Big Thanks from the Big Event!
What's a little thunderstorm when you have an amazing community that is so excited to come together for Boots & Bling and shower Corbett Prep with support and gratitude?! Our annual Big Event brought country-western flair to the Middle School Saturday night with live music, line dancing, delicious food and drinks, a mechanical bull and an outstanding fundraising effort that will make a difference for students right away! Our team of volunteers worked tirelessly to ensure everyone had a wonderful time at this party with a purpose!
The Big Event is Corbett Prep's largest fundraiser. This year, the money raised will help us make over our elementary and middle school fields and support transportation, allowing us to upgrade two of our buses so we can provide bus service and field trip transportation. Thank you to everyone who helped organize the Big Event, the sponsors who made it possible and the hundreds of guests who came out to celebrate the Corbett Prep community!
Crews arrived on Monday to begin to prepare the PreK and Elementary play field. The grass will be replaced by 8,500 square feet of synthetic turf!
Construction is also underway at the Middle School. This field – used for sports, PE and school events such as Field Day and Powder Puff – will receive Bermuda grass, new fencing, new irrigation, soccer goals and dugouts!
Coming in 2023: Explore the Galapagos Islands
We have an exciting opportunity for students and parents who will be in 5th-8th grade next year! We are organizing a trip to the Galapagos Islands for Spring Break 2023! If you would like to learn more about it, please attend our informational meeting at 6 p.m. Tuesday, May 10 at the Middle School (7th grade community space upstairs). We'll discuss the amazing excursions we'll take as well as payment options, lodging, food and travel details. Our plans for the trip include exploring Ecuador's capital, Quito; visiting the Charles Darwin research station, visiting the tortoise breeding center, snorkeling with sea lions, exploring the Otavalo market and seeing tons of wildlife!
