Enjoy Each Moment
Dear Corbett Prep Families,
There are so many wonderful moments at the end of each school year. Yes, it is a very busy time. But it goes so fast – just ask our 8th grade parents who will soon begin a new passage in their lives! Take a few deep breaths, grab a smile, and enjoy each moment through the next 5 days! When our students leave, our Teachers and Staff begin a week of meetings, report card completions, reflections on this year, and preparation for the next incredible year. Please look for all of this and more in your "end-of-the-year" mailing coming in June. Wishing everyone a great finish, with many memories to enjoy throughout our lives. Every moment at this time of year is really so special!
5th Grade Exhibition Showcases IB Journey
This past Tuesday, May 18, our fifth-grade class showcased the International Baccalaureate Exhibition 2021. Students were required to research a passion/issue, and they performed a meaningful theatrical piece that was written by them!
Following the performance, the students shared their research and multimedia presentations with parents and staff.
Students researched worthy causes, wrote action plans, and brought awareness to their passions/issues. The foundation for our IB transdisciplinary theme was How We Express Ourselves, and we utilized an inquiry model to guide us.
- To explore rights and responsibilities in the struggle to share finite resources with people and with other living things
- To examine communities and the relationships within and between them
- To explore access to equal opportunities
You can view our Exhibition photo album on our Facebook page.
Special Announcement Request
The last day of school is always very special for all of our wonderful teachers and students.
There will be a full day on the last day, Thursday, May 27. We are offering Extended Day as usual until 6 p.m.
Summertime is a wonderful time for fun with family and friends, free time, late nights, and vacations. It is a time to relax and really enjoy life, a time to let the mind explore new opportunities. In addition, it is a time to continue learning and reinforcing the concepts that we have learned this school year.
On WEDNESDAY, MAY 26, your child will bring home summer recommendations for the 2021-22 school year. Please look for these guidelines to help ensure your child is ready for the upcoming school year.

Parent-Faculty Association (PFA) News
By PFA President Lauren Lipschutz
Corbett Prep is incredibly blessed with fabulous world-class faculty and staff. Each day, the employees of Corbett Prep are busy planning wonderful and terrific things to make our children learn, experience, and develop into wonderful human beings, especially this year!
We would like to provide you with an opportunity to recognize the Teachers and Staff at Corbett Prep by inviting you to contribute to the "End-of-Year Teacher Gift Collection/Above & Beyond Gratitude Collection." Participation is strictly voluntary!
There are four collections:
- Primary and Intermediate School Teachers, which is class specific.
- Middle School Teachers, which is a Middle School-wide collection that is equally divided among Middle School teachers.
- Specials Teachers, which is schoolwide.
- Facilities, Office/Support Staff, Technology and Catering teams, which is also schoolwide.
We will collect voluntary monetary donations to purchase Corbett Prep Scrip (a generic gift card that they can use to purchase specific gift cards of their choice). For the Primary and Intermediate School Teachers, the donations collected are distributed evenly among each classroom's teachers. For our Middle School Teachers, Specials and Staff/Facilities, these collections go toward purchasing Scrips that are distributed evenly among all of these Teachers and Staff.
If you choose to donate, you may make your selection online. The link will be active through May 23.
Thank you for your thoughtful consideration,
Your PFA Executive Committee
