- Nishant S. won 2nd place in sixth grade.
- Rohit R. won 1st place for seventh grade.
- Benjamin M. won 3rd place, and Ronak M. won 1st place for eighth grade.
Our third grade and fifth grade teams won 2nd, our eighth grade team won 3rd, and our seventh grade team won 1st.
We are very proud of these students going above and beyond to participate in a math competition on a Saturday morning. Thirty students in third through eighth grade participated. They represented Corbett Prep with poise and pride!
Corbett Prep Students Land on Mars
Did you know that some of our Corbett Prep students landed on Mars with the rover Perseverance on Feb. 18?
In 2019, all LEGO Robotics students who were involved in the Middle School elective and the East Side After School Activity were offered the chance to have their name engraved on a plaque that was attached to the Mars Rover Perseverance for this mission. All students who registered their names received a "ticket" for the mission which they took home. So, when you look at that pretty red dot in the sky, you know Corbett Prep students really do go ABOVE AND BEYOND!!!
The 2020-21 Kindergarten Frogs already have their ticket to have their class name included when NASA embarks on a future Mars mission!
Kindergarten Frogs Embark on Mission to Space
With T-minus 30 minutes and counting, the Kindergarten Astronauts suited up for their mission into space.
Dressed in helmets and space packs, the astronauts were greeted with smiles, cheers, and waves as they paraded through the Corbett Prep campus to the launching site at the Middle School. The countdown began as they prepared for the live demonstration of a rocket launch!
After a successful launch, the astronauts began their exploration of the great big universe with our Discovery Centers. They made stargazer telescopes to help them locate celestial bodies and constellations and experienced eating in space with our astronaut snack – pudding packaged neatly in a bag with a straw, which made sipping this delightful snack out of this world.
Our astronauts also became a part of Mission Stardust in order to collect dust and particle samples of a comet. Using samples of the moon's "surface", the astronauts formed moon rocks and observed the chemical reaction that takes place when dissolving the rocks. A tour of the constellations was accompanied by a virtual reality trip to the International Space Station and exploration of the planets through VR glasses and Merge Cubes. A galaxy of gratitude to everyone who made this mission a blast!
Congratulations Corbett Prep Astronauts! Mission Complete!

Spirit Week Next Week!
Corbett Prep is celebrating literacy all next week in honor of Read Across America Week! We're having a Spirit Week with surprise guest readers for the entire school.
Each day at 8:05 a.m., our elementary and Middle School classes will log on to a special Zoom link to enjoy a story from guest readers.
Students are invited to bring a book connected to the theme of the day AND dress up to match that theme. Corbett Prep strives to cultivate a love of literacy among all students. Read Across America is the nation's largest celebration of reading and helps create engaged readers by highlighting and supporting reading! Make sure your kids are part of the fun March 1-5!
