Reflections and Gratitude as the Last Month of School Arrives
Dear Corbett Prep Community,
I write to you today to share how grateful I am to have been so warmly welcomed into the Corbett Prep family this year. As I continue to reflect upon 2020-21, I smile, having most enjoyed the laughter, the new ideas, the individuality, and the boundless potential I have shared with and seen in our students. I have also experienced great joy and the sense of pride that comes from meaningful day-to-day teamwork and interactions with parents, faculty, and staff.
My career has allowed me the opportunity to witness different and unique schools, and those years inside other private schools have furthered my belief and understanding of why Corbett Prep is absolutely the finest PreK3-8th grade education and environment for students to learn, thrive, and explore their limitless possibilities.
Our highly skilled and passionate teachers challenge, push, guide, comfort, elevate, and inspire each student from year to year. Teaching frameworks firmly established through decades of training continue to ensure the highest levels of student engagement to achieve learning outcomes. And our remarkable staff is always ready and happy to welcome, support, and keep everyone informed.
I am amazed we are heading into May in what feels like a blink of an eye. Now our days are a little longer, the weather a bit warmer, the campus is in full bloom, and our calendars are filled with cherished Corbett Prep traditions and activities.
In the coming months, we will share with you information about behind-the-scenes projects we have been working on this year. These extensive upgrades to our facilities and classroom enrichment options will be ready for the 2021-22 school year.
The campus enhancements will allow us to further prepare students for their futures as collaborative leaders and problem solvers. New initiatives and innovative projects such as these can only happen when we are #ONECOMMUNITY, working together to support our mission and vision.
Thank you to all the families who have continued to move Corbett Prep forward this year by donating your time, talents, and resources. Your leadership and creativity with the new, amazing Living Room Social, your generosity during Teacher Appreciation Week, 8th grade graduation and party and now your excitement and preparation for the upcoming BIG EVENT - HYBRID HULA all directly benefit our students and teachers to advance excellence in the Corbett Prep experience.
I am most appreciative of my good fortune to have been asked to join Corbett Prep this year. But to you, Corbett Prep families, I offer a humble, heartfelt thank you for allowing me, even in a different type of year, to truly feel a part of this wonderful community.
Let's finish strong, and I am hopeful to see you join us to celebrate our kids and participate in our year-end events.

Join Us Next Week for the Specials Showcase!
We are excited to invite our elementary families to come to campus next week for our first Specials Showcase!

5th Grade Demonstrates Leadership in Storytelling Project
A Note From Mr. Gamson, East Side Technology:
I am so proud of our 5th Grade Class who this week presented their original books starring the kindergarten class!
Students have been working for several weeks using StoryJumper, a program allowing students to write books, complete with illustrations. Fifth graders worked in teams to develop their stories and then lay them out in book format online. They met with the kindergarten students this week to read the students their books, and the stories presented offered great messages of values and principles we share at Corbett Prep.
Monday was also the first chance for our kindergartners to experience interaction in a safe environment with another class here during the school day.
Please join me in congratulating both classes who were excellent participants in this program!
8th Grade "Fry Spies" Wow Judges in Math Contest
Congratulations to the "Fry Spies," who put together an award-winning video that makes math entertaining and understandable!
Twelve Corbett Prep students participated in the Mathcounts Video Challenge this year, working in teams of four to create a skit built around a math problem, film the scenes and edit the video.
The "Fry Spies" team of Anna, Diego, Grace and Ava was selected as a quarterfinalist and won Judge's Choice for best special effects and editing! The eighth graders received their certificates and plaques this week. Check out their video on how three kids use math to battle a supervillain and save humanity!Watch the Video!
