A Letter from Jennifer Jagdmann
For 21 years, Corbett Prep has been my professional home, source of inspiration, and the community where I have poured my heart and energy.
The values and philosophy that define Corbett Prep are deeply woven into who I am as an educator, a leader, and a lifelong learner. These principles have guided me in cultivating a school environment where joyful learning, respect for individuality, and a commitment to excellence thrive. My connection to Corbett Prep runs deeply, beginning with early guidance from Marilyn Gatlin and continuing with years of invaluable mentorship from Joyce Burick Swarzman. These formative relationships, coupled with countless shared experiences with our students, families, and faculty, have instilled in me an enduring passion to serve and lead this extraordinary school.
Corbett Prep has continually inspired me to grow as a leader, providing opportunities that have enriched my experience and broadened my perspective. As an International Baccalaureate workshop leader and visiting team member, I have worked with educators worldwide, enhancing my ability to implement globally recognized best practices. I have trained teachers internationally in Concept-Based Curriculum and Instruction and consistently serve on Florida Council of Independent Schools school accreditation teams, ensuring my knowledge of independent school trends remains current. These experiences have strengthened my expertise in educational pedagogy and leadership beyond our walls, enriching my capacity to contribute meaningfully to our community.
Recognizing the evolving demands of school leadership, I pursued advanced education to complement my hands-on experience. I completed a Master’s in Educational Leadership before stepping into my role as principal, preparing me well to lead with integrity and vision. More recently, I earned a Master’s in Business Administration that expanded my skills in strategic planning, financial stewardship, development, and organizational leadership. This intentional growth has equipped me to navigate the complexities of school administration while keeping our mission and vision at the heart of every decision.
It is time to return the investment Corbett Prep has made in me in the most impactful way possible. I feel uniquely positioned to serve as Head of School because of my unwavering commitment to Corbett Prep’s mission and my readiness to lead with both vision and pragmatism.
As I reflect on what Corbett Prep means to me, I am inspired by the joy, community, and innovation that define our community. To lead this incredible school into its next chapter is an honor. With every decision grounded in our unwavering inquiry — Is it best for kids? — I am committed to ensuring that Corbett Prep’s legacy endures and thrives for generations to come.
