Kagan USA Tour Returns to Corbett Prep in February

Corbett Prep will host an open house where teachers will model Kagan cooperative learning structures for other educators as part of the Kagan USA Tour.

Kagan Professional DevelopmentJan. 28, 2016 (TAMPA, Fla.) – Want to reach students in dynamic and engaging ways? Educators and administrators are invited once again to Corbett Prep on Feb. 26 and 27 to learn more about Kagan cooperative teaching strategies and see them in action.

The Kagan USA Tour offers professional development opportunities for teachers to learn about cooperative learning and multiple intelligence structures for teaching success.

Kagan Structures are powerful tools for teachers to help them boost academic gains, close the achievement gap and meet demands associated with implementing standards. Engaging, interactive teaching strategies grab students’ attention and keep them motivated. As a result, student behavior improves, students learn more and have increased retention of knowledge.

A Kagan Model School, Corbett Prep will host an Open House on Feb. 26 where attendees can select which core and specials’ classrooms they want to visit and which Kagan structures they want to see. They can watch how students respond to different techniques and learn from the expert modeling of experienced practitioners in PreK3 through eighth grade.

On Feb. 27, workshop attendees may select one of two day-long sessions. Educators in the cooperative learning workshop will experience cutting-edge teaching structures and learn management tips and classbuilding strategies. The multiple intelligences workshop identifies eight ways students are smart and teaches participants cooperative structures they can use to engage different learners.

Register directly with Kagan Professional Development via phone at 800-266-7576 or online. For every three teachers attending from the same school, the fourth receives a full scholarship thanks to a grant from the Farish Fund. Sessions start at 8 a.m. at Corbett Preparatory School of IDS, 12015 Orange Grove Dr., Tampa.
