Electives and Clubs
Middle School Electives and Clubs Empower Students to Identify and Pursue Intellectual, Creative Strengths
Electives are academic in nature and focus on boosting excitement and achievement in areas such as geometry, engineering, art, music, and drama. Through elective choices each trimester, students may pursue interests or further develop talents through in-depth study related to the arts and all aspects of curriculum including band, broadcasting, musical theatre, photography, yearbook, forensics, and much more.
Clubs expand both educational and social opportunities for students. Middle School students at Corbett Prep may explore and grow in areas that are of special interest to them.
Each trimester, students are able to select from an array of diverse clubs focused on acting, brain-boosting games, dance, robotics, math, and world travel. In the career-oriented club engineering, for example, students tap into their creativity to design and build Rube Goldberg machines— contraptions that can complete a simple task such as popping a balloon and are constructed from materials including cardboard, paper towel tubes, clothes pins, and duct tape.
