May 1, 2014 (TAMPA, Fla.) – Every day Corbett Prep’s PreK3, PreK4 and Kindergarten classes make fantastic discoveries about their world.

Hands-on projects and creative, engaging lessons allow them to transform into artists, investigators, performers, scientists and explorers. Early Primary teachers at Corbett Preparatory School of IDS challenge their students to take risks in a supportive environment and guide them toward independence.

Parents may learn more about Corbett Prep’s Early Primary program — goals, academics, special traditions and daily routines — at two upcoming events in May. Current parents are invited to bring a guest to an EduTalk on May 14, and Corbett Prep will open its doors to prospective parents at an Early Primary Admissions Open House on May 28.

Here is what to expect from the events:

Early Primary EduTalk: Families of children now enrolled at Corbett Prep are welcome to bring a friend for a casual conversation with teachers and Headmaster Dr. Joyce Burick Swarzman about gearing up for summer and how parents can ensure their children are prepared for the coming school year. Dr. Swarzman will share answers to frequently asked questions about the prekindergarten and kindergarten program. The EduTalk begins at 8:15 a.m. on May 14.

Early Primary Admissions Open House: Prospective families can become acquainted with Corbett Prep and the ways the Early Primary classes promote curiosity, inquiry and a love of learning. The Admissions Open House will include a tour of the beautiful, cypress-covered campus to give parents a bigger picture of all the wonderful opportunities available to children. The Open House is at 8:30 a.m. May 28.

PreK3, PreK4 and Kindergarten classes follow the Corbett Prep philosophy of emphasizing student inquiry and individual talents and intelligences, as well as cooperative and creative learning. The Early Primary program lays the groundwork academically and socially for students to experience many more successful years at Corbett Prep!
