CAMP IDS Musical Theatre Presents “Dear Edwina Jr.”

The Musical Theatre camp will perform at 1 and 7 p.m. June 26 and 27.

DearEdwinaJune 25, 2014 (TAMPA, Fla.) – Produce a musical in two weeks? The musical theatre camp at CAMP IDS will wow you with the results of their hard work!

CAMP IDS continues its summer theatre tradition with Dear Edwina Jr., a funny and clever show written in the episodic style of Schoolhouse Rock Live and You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown. The musical follows the adventures of plucky advice-giver extraordinaire Edwina Spoonapple as she directs neighborhood kids in a series of production numbers that will appeal to children and adults.

Performances take place at 1 and 7 p.m. Thursday, June 26, and Friday, June 27, in the Farish Center at Corbett Preparatory School of IDS. Tickets cost $5 for students and $8 for adults.

Dear Edwina Jr. features music from the award-winning songwriting team behind Junie B. Jones, the musical.  Songs are “delightfully infectious,” in the words of Backstage, and touch upon issues such as trying new foods and making friends in ways that are humorous and poignant.
