Music

To foster a love of music, our program gives all students the chance to explore making music in a variety of ways.

All students have the opportunity to participate in musical activities twice a week, learning music fundamentals and exploring music of many cultures and historical periods. Students sing and learn drums, recorders, band instruments, Orff instruments, electronic keyboards, and computer programs.

Students who choose to take their musical experience to a more advanced level may join the Spirit of IDS Chorus (3rd grade), Warriors’ Pride Chorus (4th -5th grades), Middle School Musical Theatre (6th- 8th grades), and Beginning and Advanced Bands (5th-8th grades). Middle School students may also participate in the All-State Chorus Prep club, where they prepare for auditions for the highly competitive choral group that performs at the Florida Music Education Association conference. These enrichment opportunities give students even more experiences to embrace and develop their musical talents .

CSA Presents "How To Succeed in Business Without Really Trying"

The Community School of the Arts will feature two casts of high school students from throughout the Tampa Bay area in the corporate musical comedy "How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying." The students will perform in four shows on April 28-30 at Corbett Prep.

Warriors' Pride Presents James and the Giant Peach

Everything is peachy for the fourth- and fifth-grade Warriors' Pride Chorus.

Since December, 71 fourth- and fifth-grade students in Warriors' Pride Chorus have rehearsed for Roald Dahl's James and the Giant Peach Jr., the "fantasmarific" journey of a young boy who sails across the Atlantic Ocean in a magical peach with his insect friends.

The show featured two casts, both of which performed in a daytime show for their peers and an evening show for family and friends.
